Synopsis

“I am Uriel: The Harbinger of Chaos, The Keeper of the Gates, The Begetter of Life, The Dam of The Ends, and I’m coming to take what is mine!”

The clash with Baza and his angels had demonstrated to Ariel that Earth (Apkallu) is not the safe heaven she hoped it would be, and it is only a matter of time before she is hunted and dead.

The only way to survive is to accept her destiny and to fight back.

But upon her return to Uras, Ariel is rejected in her own domain and has to suppress the revolt against her reign. The angels refuse her and her lead, abandoning her and Uras in favour of another ruler.

She knows that without an army of followers she won’t stand a chance against Baza or Mik’hael, so now she needs to go into the most unexpected places to find it.

My Review

Harbinger is the third instalment in this addictive and heavenly quadrilogy (a four book series – that means we’re lucky enough to get another incredible read after reading Harbinger!). Heavenward is the first instalment of the Celestial Creatures Series, and the first book that had me instantly hooked onto the Celestial Creatures Series. Why not check out my review of Heavenward?, and don’t forget to check out my review of the second instalment Hallow.

I’ve been left wanting more ONCE again after reading one of Olga Gibbs amazing books…I was left speechless after putting down Heavenward, and left even more speechless after getting to the end of Hallow. And after reading Harbinger, I’m left the same. More speechless than the last.

I’m not sure how Olga has manage to do it yet again but she has left me speechless and hanging on the edge of my seat wanting to read Halo already! And it was a no brain-er to give Harbinger its more than deserved 5 stars.

From page one of Harbinger you are drawn into the chaos that is Ariel’s life, fighting for the life that was thrust upon her, a life she now has to learn to navigate through while saving those close to her. Harbinger is a short but just as action packed and full of surprises as Heavenward and Hallow.

Her return to Uras was less than welcoming for Ariel. With most of her army against her, Rafe seemingly loosing control of his sanity, caring for her younger sister Jess while trying to control her own inner turmoil, it doesn’t look as though Ariel’s life is about to become any less complicated or chaotic.

Without an army at her side Ariel knows she will never stand a chance in a fight against Baza or Mik’hael and time has never been on her side. How do you win back an army that doesn’t see you as an equal let alone a leader?

Preparing for battling is going to test Ariel in ways she has never been tested before and with her attention split between a torn Rafe and beloved little sister Jess. Gaining her army back is just the first of her battles.

But as always Ariel isn’t one to give up nor is she someone who backs down when life gets tough. Too much is riding on her, she can’t give up just because most of her army has hate for her and for what she once used to be. Figuring out how to convince a bunch of arrogant angels to follow her lead is just the first of her battles.

Whenever I open one of Olga Gibbs books I am instantly sucked in the mind of Ariel and the new world she’s found herself in. Olga manages to capture Ariel’s character and paint her in a certain light while still allowing room to grow and change through each book.

Ariel is a young girl who like many young girl makes a lot of mistakes however Ariel is placed under a lot of stress and responsibility that she’s constantly aware is hanging over her head.

It’s exciting seeing Jess’s character come more to life in Harbinger. fascinating to find out how Rafe’s new change affects his relationship with Ariel.

As in any young woman’s life there are potential love interests, there are everyday problems/emotions that Ariel has to deal with or figure out and fight through. Personally I’m team Rafe (there’s just something about his loyalty that’s attractive about his character) but have to say that Sam’s character is somewhat…arrogant, intense and interesting.

With a memorising and beautiful cover, you are instantly drawn to Olga Gibb’s book Series ‘The Celestial Creatures’ and once you’ve opened it up, after you’ve flipped over that beautiful book cover and dive into the first chapter you will find yourself instantly addicted to this well-crafted, beautifully written series.

As much as I enjoyed reading Harbinger, as much as I am looking forward to reading the final book to the Celestial Creatures (Halo), I am also very much dreading coming to the end of this phenomenal dark fantasy series full of adventure, emotion, turmoil, danger, challenges and a new world with angels that I am going to be sadden to see the end of. However, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and we’re lucky enough to be one book behind from the end.

Harbinger is an absorbing, fast-paced, action-packed book that will have you absorbed from the very first page. Olga Gibbs world for Ariel is as dangerous and gruesome as it is magical and beautiful.

Harbinger is a short, well-written fast-paced book that will leave you hanging on the edge of your seat. Olga’s writing style is unique, engrossing and easy-to read, with her unique writing skills she is able to transport her readers into Ariel’s world, allowing us to feel and experience what Ariel is going through. Blogger Recognition Award

I don’t know about the rest of you but I absolutely love all these blogger award posts, giving notice and recognition to all the amazing and creative blogger out there is really important! Especially because there are so many of us that sometimes we can feel as though out voice and our blog is being drowned out by the rest.

Blogger Recognition Award
Blogger Recognition Award

So when I receive an award for anything to do with my blog, I’m over the moon for the whole week! And, so, I would like to give the biggest of thanks to the wondrous and marvellous Charlotte owner of TimetoTalk Blog for making the rest of my week a great one!

Now in the past I have forgotten to respond to my rewards and I apologise immensely for that! With the start of my blog, candle making, planning more things to sell in hopes of creating a future business, writing my dreams, chasing my dreams, family/ life problems and my own mental health going down slightly that I just let a lot of things get away from me.

But that’s changing now!

From now own as soon as I am awarded such a lovely honour I’ll be writing half of the post out and then finishing it the day after. If there are any awards that you have so graciously awarded me please feel free to messages/dm me in anyway so that I can get it written up, link back to your blog and award the award to other creative/amazing/incredible bloggers!

So what is the ‘Blogger Recognition Award’?

So the ‘Blogger Recognition Award’ is an award given out by other remarkable and phenomenal bloggers who have recognised the hard work and creativity/ originality sewn into their blog and blog posts.

Of course like with all these awards there are rules put in place to assure that it is fair, fun and that everyone get the recognition deserved.

So, what are the rules?

  • Write a blog post to show the award
  • Acknowledge the blogger who has nominated you
  • Give a brief story to why you started your blog
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
  • Nominate at least 11 other fantastic bloggers who deserve the award!

Why I started my blogging journey

I started my blog as a way to get my voice out there and heard, to be able to help more people while I overcome my own demons and struggles but also to share the journey of a lost girl writing her dream and fighting off invisible monsters.

I want my journey to be one that others can learn from and with my mental health taking over and ruling my life, I had finally decided that it was time to take it back… a blog seemed the safest way for me to achieve these things.

With a blog I can get my words out there, I can help SO many more people like me, I am able to write my dream of becoming an author while interacting with incredible authors, I’m able to express myself in ways I wasn’t.

All of this – Everything that I do for and with my blog, and everything that my blog gives back to me is the most enjoyment I have EVER gotten out of life. It’s the first time since I was 16 that I have allowed myself to truly interact with other people as well as the first time I have truly put myself out there.

So in short, I started my blog for me and others. I started my blog to help who ever I can, whenever I can but I also started my blog in the hopes of chasing my dreams, of achieving things I never believe I would be able to achieve while inspiring others to take back their life and fight for it, no matter how dark or gloomy it may be or seem at the time.

The two pieces of advice I have for new bloggers are:

Piece of Advice 1.
You, WILL get slow days, even months! But you must not let that get to you. Take a step back, post small and simple posts while you plan for bigger ones. Take a step back an remember what made you start your blog in the first place. You knew it wasn’t going to be easy, dreams never are! But the pain, the sweat, the tears and moments of defeat is so damn worth the reward.

Piece of Advice 2.
Never, EVER, forget the bloggers who first supported you. Who first help you grow, shared your posts, tweeted something for you or did anything to help support you. Those few first followers you gain are usually your most loyal ones, they are the ones who will stick with you through think and thin. When blog views are going down, they will be the ones there to help lift your spirit. To forget them would be like forgetting your best friend or pet.

Here are 11 magnificent bloggers (never placed down in any particular order as they are all equally stupendous in their own ways) who have managed to keep my spirits high and blogging experience a great one but also produce some incredibly interesting, creative, original and simply astounding blog posts.
